The annual stallion parades are well-known in the region and a fantastic highlight for every visitor. The state stud is situated in the heart of the UNESCO biosphere reserve on the Swabian Alb. The three state studs are spread in Marbach, Offenhausen and St. Johann with nearly 1000 hectares and offer space for around 550 horses. Marbach is the head quarter of the Competence Centre for Horses in Baden-Württemberg as well as the head quarter of the European State Studs - the ESSA e.V.
