Bad Urach has 11,829 inhabitans and is situated 464 m above sea level. The city is in the middle of the UNESCO Biosphere reserve Swabian Alb and has impressive views into the valley of the river Erms. Remarkable is the location of Bad Urach which is surrounded by shaded beech forests. What’s more, the Wasserfallsteig, one of the five Premium hikes, has just been awarded Germany's most beautiful hiking trail 2016 – on the way you will come along impressive ruins, rushing waterfalls, stunning views and much more. Bad Urach offers also a historical marketplace with beautiful and well preserved half-timbered buildings from the 15th and 16th century. You can also soak in the culture of Bad Urach by visiting the Residential palace and make history and tradition a real experience.
