The Alb village at the celtic foundings

Grabenstetten has 1,600 inhabitants. It is located 680 - 740 m above sea level on a mountain peninsula in the middle of a landscape reserve area. The 1,453 hectares area is mostly covered by thick forest. The Gothic village church from the 13th century is definitely worth a visit. Heidengraben, the largest celtic fortification of southern Germany from 400 BC has an archaeological circular hiking trail.

Caves as the Falkensteiner cave, castle ruins, well connected biking routes, tennis courts and cross-country skiing possibilities can be found in and around Grabenstetten. Interesting and worth a visit is the Celtic museum where the entry is for free (Böheringerstraße 7).
