Hayingen is with its half-timbered houses a beautiful village situated between the romantic Glastal valley and the Lautertal valley that is rich with old castles. The city has around 2,200 inhabitants and lies about 550-803 m above the sea level.
Hayingen is the ideal place for recreation, especially loved by hikers and bikers. Moreover, it is the perfect place for a short vacation to be active but also to relax and to discover new things. For example discover the mysterious cave "Wimsen" which is the only cave in Germany which you can enter by boat.
The urban districts Anhausen and Indelhausen are situated in the romantic Lautertal valley with beautiful look outs. Ehestetten and Münzdorf are idyllic places surrounded by meadows and forests.
In the summer time you can visit the UNESCO-awarded open air theatre which shows regional pieces in a beatiful setting directly at the edge of the forest. You can also go to the traditional city festival with its own handcraft market and regional food. During the winter time the traditional carnival parades take place which you shouldn´t miss.
