Trochtelfingen on the Swabian Alb is 720 m above the sea level and has with all its districts (Trochtelfingen, Mägerkingen, Steinhilben, Wilsingen, Hausen an der Lauchert, Haid) around 6.300 inhabitants.
Trochtelfingen is famous for its historic city centre which has several half-timbered houses, the St. Martin church and a old ruin of the city wall.There are also several chapels to find which can be visited.
In the district of Steinhilben you can find a lookout tower (878 m above sea level) which is a nice sight to visit and to look around by enjoying the nature and surrounding. Mägerkingen is another district which has a varierity of recreation to offer, espescially at the Lauchertlake.
There are also a lot of opportunities to stay active: tennis courts and halls, skilifts, a well-marked biking route, hiking trails and nordic walking tracks.
